3rd Grade Science- 

Week 4- Assignment dates: 4/6

Directions:

Please complete the following pages in order daily. On Monday the students will be baking for science. If you do not have any of the choices listed below please see alternative link.

  1. Make ONE item together WITH an adult. Muffins, cake, or any type of bread such as banana.

Answer the following questions from page 416 in your textbook. Look and Wonder. Have you ever baked a cake? Why doesn’t a cake taste like the ingredients it is made from? What happens to the ingredients to make them taste different? Write your answers in your journal. Take a picture of your baked item and send it along with your answers.

If you do not have any of the baking ingredients, please watch the YouTube video and answer the questions based on the video.

  1. Chapter 10 open book test. Pages 424 and 425. You may write only the vocabulary answers for

 #’s 1-8. Please answer the following questions. #9-14 and test prep. Send in a test today after you complete it.

  1. Read page 426.

  2. We are starting a new unit. Force and Energy. Read lesson 1 Position and Motion. Complete Vocabulary and science journal.

Week 3- Assignment dates: 3/30-4/3

Directions: Before getting started, at the end of the week students will need white vinegar for their quick lab. If you do not have any or can not get any please complete the alternative activity, cut and paste.

Please complete the following pages in order daily.

  1. Matter Walks Recording Booklet

  2. Print and complete Quick Lab page 176

If you don’t have access to a printer please write the quick lab into your science journal.

  1. Read Mining Ores in the textbook pages 414 and 415. Then, go on to Lesson 3 Chemical Changes in the textbook. Pages 416-420. Complete Vocabulary in Science Journal.

  2. Complete Think, Talk, and Write. Page 421. You may skip #2

  3. Print and complete Quick Lab page 181.You will need white vinegar.

If you don’t have access to a printer please write the quick lab into your science journal.

  2. Complete Think, Talk , and Write on page 403 in the textbook. You may skip #2 Vocabulary. Then start Quick Lab Pages 171- 173.

  3. Complete Quick Lab from yesterday. Then read Lesson 2, Physical Changes in the textbook pages 407-412. Complete Vocabulary in science journal.

  4. Complete Think, Talk, and Write on page 413 You may skip #2 Vocabulary.

  5. Complete Quick Lab Pages 174 and 175 (Clay has been supplied.)
