Placement Request for the 2022-2023 School Year –
At the end of the school year, discussions take place among grade-level teachers to determine the placement of students for the following year. The criteria for placement include learning style, social dynamics, and personality. Children are assigned to the teacher and group in which it is felt they will be most successful. These lists are reviewed and finalized in August. Parents are notified of these placements by mail before the start of the school year.
A great deal of thought and care is put into the placement process. Homeroom teachers receive input from both specialty teachers and learning specialists who know the children well. Our objective in determining class lists is to best meet each child’s needs, with the overall goal of creating balanced classes. Parents are asked to refrain from making requests. Oftentimes, these requests contradict what the teachers feel will work best for the child in an academic setting (e.g. being in class with a particular child). It is school policy that no written requests be taken into consideration regarding placement. If a parent has an issue regarding class placement, he/she is asked to make an appointment with the principal to discuss his/her concerns.
Summer Camp Registration is OPEN – limited spots available!  June 3rd will be the last day registrations will be accepted for summer camp.
